Stern ramp collapsed
The stern ramp of the "Aremiti Ferry II" collapsed and fell down in the morning of Dec 17, 2018, when the ship was about to leave the wharf of Vaiare in Moorea. A traction cable broke when the ramp was being raised. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the loading process was already completed. The passengers were carried on by the "Aremiti 5" which started to rotate between Tahiti and Moorea for the time being as a replacement ferry. The "Aremiti Ferry II" left port after the ramp was secured and returned to Papeete for repairs at 12.40 a.m. on Dec 18.
