Engine failure off Fremantle

The "Tascco Sakorn" suffered main engine failure on the way from Cigading to Fremantle upon its Arrival on the port's roads. On Oct 8, 2017, the ship was pushed into Fremantle by the tug "Wambiri" (IMO: 8515518) assisted by a Total Assist-tug, after an intitial tow from the anchorage with only the bow thruster working. Bitumen tanker AD MATSU attacked by 6 pirates in South China Sea

Bitumen tanker AD MATSU was attacked by 6 pirates recently, in South China sea, north of Tanjung Berakit, Pulau Bintan, Indonesia. Pirates understood to board the vessel, rob the crew of cash and valuables, and flee. One of pirates was arrested by Indonesian Navy on Aug 12. The date of attack unknown, but according to AIS track, it could take place on Aug 7 or Aug 8, when vessel was under way, en route from Singapore to Hai Phong, Vietnam. Presently tanker is under way, en route from Hai Phong to Singapore or Indonesia.
