Engine trouble in Piraeus

On May 4, 2021, at noon the Port Department of Perama of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus was informed by the naval agent of the 'Tanzanite' about a mechanical damage during its voyage from Piraeus to Malta with 22 crew members on board. The authority issued a sailing ban until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a class maintenance certificate by the classification society that monitors it. The ship remained berthed in Perama as of May 5.

Ukrainian crew member died on board

On Oct 21, 2018, an Ukrainian crew member of the "Mia S" died on board the ship four miles off Flic en Flac in Mauritius. A Chetak police helicopter had been requested to evacuate the crew member who was suffering from discomfort and was put on oxygen by the crew. The helicopter with a medical officer on board headed for the position of the vessel. Upon arrival, the doctor could only note the 48-year-old man was dead. The body was transferred to the morgue for an autopsy.
