Blackout in Brunsbüttel

Fri Nov 01 17:47:11 CET 2019 Timsen

On Nov 1, 2019, at 3.45 p.m. the 'Tanais' suffered an engine blackout in the inner port of Brunsbüttel, coming from Hamburg, and went adrift. The tug 'Luchs' was deployed to assist and took the ship in tow. The Kiel Canal between the inner port and Kudensee was barred for shipping until the situation was under control. The ship was then moored at the railway station pilings in Brunsbüttel. The police boat 'Schwansen' attended for investigations. The ship sailed again on Nov 2 at 9.10 a.m. and headed to Elblag, ETA Nov 6.
