Abducted crew released
Nine Nigerian crew members who were kidnapped from the FPSO 'Sendje Berge' on July 2, have been released on Aug 10. Pirates hadboarded the vessel and abducted nine crewmembers. No others on board were injured in the altercation. BW Offshore and the Nigerian Navy coordinated on the response after the pirates' departure. The 'Sendje Berge' is permanently anchored at the Okwori field, located about 50 miles to the southwest of Port Harcourt.
Nine nigerians kidnapped
On July 2, 2020, at approximately 4:20 a.m. the FPSO 'Sendje Berge' was subject to an attack by pirates offshore Nigeria in which nine Nigerian nationals were kidnapped. The incident onboard the FPSO has ended and none of those remaining onboard have suffered physical injuries. Operator BW Offshore was cooperating with local authorities, represented on site by the Nigerian Navy. The 'Sendje Berge' is situated on the Okwori field in Nigeria on contract to Addax Petroleum.
BW Offshore inks long-term charter extension for Sendje Berge
BW Offshore has signed an interim agreement for a six year extension for FPSO Sendje Berge with Addax Petroleum Exploration Ltd, an affiliate of the Sinopec Group. The firm period has been extended to Q1 2018, with options until Q1 2020. The agreement secures operational continuity while awaiting final contract approval by Nigerian authorities, the company said in its press release.
