Bulkcarrier diverted to distressed single hand sailor
The "Talimen" was diverted to the yacht "DHL Starlight" of the British single hand sailor Susie Goodall, 29, from Falmouth, which had participated in the Golden Globe Round-the-World Race. The Rustler 36 had capsized on Dec 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. 2000 miles west of Cape Horn in pos. 45' 27,787 S, 122' 23,537 W and suffered severe damage with water seeping in. The mast and the jury rig got lost. Susie Goodall, which had suffered injuries, had alerted the Falmouth Coastguard which accordingly informed the race team and the MRCC in Chile. which contacted in turn the bulkcarrier which was 480 miles SW of the postion enroute from Tabbot Point to Praia Mole. It headed towards the boat of Susie Goodall and was expected to reach it in about two days.
