Short delivery time for Dutch Shoalbuster
The Damen Shoalbuster 2709 ‘Isa’ has recently been delivered to Wijk bij Duurstede-based V.O.S. Sleepboot ISA replacing another tug of the same name. Wijk bij Duurstede is on border between Utrecht and Gelderland provinces of the Netherlands but it was at Hardinxveld towards the end of last year that Willem-Harm Mastenbroek, owner and managing director of V.O.F. Sleepboot ISA signed the contract for the new vessel with Jos van Woerkum, managing director of Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld. Damen yard number 571705, a product of its China facility at Changde was subsequently delivered by heavylift vessel to the Netherlands for stock and completed as the Isa for its new owner. The Shoalbuster is a 2709 marque denoting length overall of 27.02m and beam 9.1m: other dimensions include: depth at sides 3.6m, draught aft 2.63m and gross tonnage 221t. Last Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 the 27 mtr long 221 Grt Shallow draft anchorhandling tugboat / utility vessel ISA powered by 2x Caterpillar 3512C TA/A with a Bollard pull: 41,2 ton and equipped with Double drum towing winch: 50/100 tons and Fuel capacity of 125.100 litres was christened at the Damen Shipyard premises in Hardinxveld- The Netherlands
