Disabled ship towed to Harstad
The "Sveanord" suffered an engine breakdown in position 69 10 N 17 59 E on March 7, 2018. The ship with a crew of five on board, had suffered problems with the oil cooler at 4.43 p.m. It was taken in tow by a fishing vessel for a couple of hours before being handed over to a Norwegian Coast Guard craft, which towed it into Harstad on March 8 at 2 a.m. It finally berthed in port on March 9 at 9.30 a.m.
Sveanord disabled off Bjarkøy
In the night of May 15, 2017, the "Sveanord" suffered engine trouble north of Bjarkøy and was disabled. The lifeboat "Dagfinn Paust - RS 103" was called from the NSSR station Andenes to assist and took the vessel in tow. The "Sveanord" suffered water ingress in the engine room off Dyrøya in the afternoon of May 3, 2011. This caused a machine failure, and the crew sent distres calls via VHF. A Navy vessel towed the "Sveanord" closer to land, just behind Finnlandsåsen. Also the rescue boats "Skudd" and "Storm" as well as the "Barents Resque" assisted in getting the situation under control. Norwegian report with photo: http://www.ht.no/article451532.ece
