Boiler trouble caused smoke development
In the afternoon of Jan 7, 2018, large amounts of thick, black smoke billowed from the smoke stacks of the "Suecia Seaways" in the Vulcaan Port of Rotterdam-Vlaardingen drifted over Schiedam. . The fire brigade immediately attended with a lot of equipment around 1.30 p.m. A special fire fighting team was also deployed, but there was no fire but only problems with a boiler which meanwhile have been resolved and the ship may leave tonight. Suecia Seaways incident getting investigated
The "Suecia Seaways" left the Dooley Ro Ro Terminal in Felixstowe again on Sep 13 at 8.40 to return to Rotterdam Vulcan Port the same day, after several shifted and damaged trailers on the weather deck that had slid around were lifted off the ship. Some of the damaged vehicles had blocked the entrance to the weather deck. DFDS was investigating what caused the trailers to slide after the ship had left Rotterdam on Sep 12 at 9.20 p.m. Captain Ole Nielsen had immediately responded to the incident by changing course to prevent further damage. Accident on board of ro-ro Suecia Seaway, North sea
Maritime Danmark reported accident on board of ro-ro Suecia Seaway on Sep 11 13, en route from Rotterdam to Felixstowe. In presumably, stormy weather, several trailers on cargo deck moved around and were damaged. Vessel safely arrived to Felixstowe, where some of the trailers had to be offloaded by crane. Suecia Seaway left Felixstowe on Sep 12 and arrived to Rotterdam on Sep 13.
