Fishing vessel disabled off Sylt

The "Stiene Bruhns", 62 gt, was disabled on May 3, 2017, at 2.20 a.m. and was adrift off Sylt island. The "Pidder Lyng" of the DGzRS station List upon Sylt was alerted after the propeller of the vessel was fouled by a rope. The ship was drifting in eastern winds of 6 Beaufort towards the island's coast and was 1,5 miles SW of Helgoland. One hour after the distress call the lifeboat reached the fishing vessel from Ditzum. Despite darkness and the strong wind the crew managed to establish a towing connection at once. At 7 a.m. the casualty was towed into the port of Havneby, and at 8 a.m. the lifeboat was ready for service again.
