Ferry got in motion by swell of passing tanker and damage landing bridge
On June 9, 2019, at 2 a.m. the "Stettin" which was berthed at the ferry pt. Kudensee in the Kiel Canal got in motion by the swell of the passing Norwegian tank m/v "Latana" which was transiting the waterway enroute from Ventspils to Rotterdam- A wire of the shoreside roro bridge was torn off by the movement of the ferry. Officers of the water police Brunsbüttel boarded the tanker once it had berthed in the canal locks on its way towards the Northsea at 2.45 a.m. At 3.50 a.m. it was allowed to continue the voyage and berthed at the Cobelfret Terminal in the Caland Port on June 11 at 8.50 a.m.
Ferry allided with berth in Brunsbüttel
In the morning of Aug 17, 2013, the "Stettin" allided with the north ferry pt. on the Kiel Canal in Brundbüttel after having suffered an engine failure while berthing. The berth was damaged and a bollard of the Ferry broke off. The barrier was torn off and crashed onto a car on deck. The ferry was sidelined and replaced by a smaller one.
