Coronavirus case aboard tanker off Trieste

Aboard the 'AST Sunshine' a case of coronaviurs was reported. In the early afternoon of July 23, 2020, Asugi staff boarded the tanker to carry out the tests for the other 21 crew members in Trieste where the vessel had arrived on July 17.

Medevac near Galveston

The US Coast Guard medevaced a crew member from the "AST Sunshine" near Galveston, Texas, on April 4, 2019. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a report from the chief engineer of the crude oil tanker that a crewmember required medical assistance. Watchstanders consulted the duty flight surgeon who recommended a medevac. A Coast Guard Station Galveston 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew arrived on scene and transferred the crewmember to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Coast Guard Station Galveston. The crewmember was reported to be in stable condition.
