Man fell into dry dock and died
Steffen Mørner Olsen (19) fell into the drydock, in which the 'Statsraad Lehmkuhl' is actually located, in Damsgård in Laksevåg in Bergen, on Oct 28, 2023, at 9.45 p.m.. He fell ten meters deep and died of his injuries. The deceased was going to an event with friends near where the accident happened. He was no crew member. Both the fire brigade and ambulance were on the scene, and CPR was carried out. The man was then declared dead on the spot. The crime scene was cordoned off, and forensics technicians carried out investigations during the night. The police investigated the area, and cannot find surveillance cameras that could shed light on the matter. There are fences around the entire dry dock, but these can be breached. There is nothing to suggest that anything criminal had happened. The deceased was from Bergen municipality. The dry dock in question is located on the old shipyard area of the Bergens Mekaniske Verksted (BMV) in Laksevåg.
