Starbulk sells capesizer "Star Ypsilon" for $9.12M
Star Bulk Carriers Corp. (SBLK) said Friday that it has entered into an agreement to sell the Star Ypsilon, a 150,940 dwt Capesize vessel, built 1991, to a third party for a contracted sale price of $9.12 million. The company plans to deliver the vessel to the buyers within March 2012. Star Bulk also said that its subsidiary Star Beta LLC and Deiulemar Shipping S.p.A agreed to settle all claims that were the subject of an ongoing arbitration.

On April 9, 2010, at 2 a.m. the "Star Ypsilon" was attacked by seven pirates armed with guns and knives in 3.19.1N 105.28.9E, South China Sea, 20 nm nw off Pulau Jemanja. The pirates robbed the ship’s safe, cash and two mobile phones.
