Passenger ship unfastened by unknown persons
Unknown persons have dropped the mooring lines of two passenger ships, among them the 'Stadt Bonn' ('EU-No.: 04602790) in Cochem on Aug 9, 2020, betweeen 1 a.m. and 3.30 a.m. They started drifting down the Mosel and hit another berthed river cruise ship, the 'Calypso' (EU-No.: 02321970), at its starboard side foreship and drifted into a pleasure boat pier at the left river shore. The fire brigade was alerted and secured the ships which were towed back to their respective berths in care of the owners. It was also tried to unfasten the moorings of a river ferry. The 'Calypso' was on a nine-day-cruise from Düsseldorf towards destinations on the Mosel and the Saar. She had berthed in Cond/Cochem for the night. The damage remained limited, and the 'Calypso' could continue the voyage to the next destination Bernkastel-Kues as planned. The police was investigating.
