Fire quickly extinguished
The "Regina 1" suffered a minor fire in the engine room on Jan 25, 2013, while berthed at new berth in Drapetsona area of Piraeus port, Odin.tc reports. The fire was quickly extinguished. The vessel was detained for investigation and survey.
Ban on Regina 1 lifted
After the defincies were removed and requested repairs carried out, the ban on the "Regina 1" was lifted, and the ship left the Borssumer Quay in Emden on Dec 13 at noon bound for Piräus, ETA Dec 26.
Ship detained following engine failure on the Ems
In the late afternoon Dec 5, 2012, the "Regina 1" suffered engine failure short after having departed from Leer at 4.15 p.m. being bound for Piraeus. The ship had to be stopped by an emergeny anchoring manoevre off Oldersum on the Ems. The ship was taken in tow by two tugs and docked in the Borssumer Port in Emden at 9.20 p.m. During the following control the police noticed that the ship did not have an insurance for the case of spills of bunker fuel. Furthermore the Philippino master had no certificates regarding the International Ship Management concerning the responsibilities and safety standards on board and the operator on shore. Investigations were launched and a safety fine of 6000 Euro had to be deposited as well as another of 1300 Euro for the missing insurance. Finally it was found out that the tanks for oil sludge were almost completely filled and it was ordered to have about 20 tons removed in the port of Emden. Until everything was clarified, the cause of the engine failure investigated and the defiencies removed, the ship was detained in port.
