Repair work after collision of Kitty C and Swinemünde
The "Ramme" on Dec 4, 2012, was sent to remove a sunk piling at the ferry pt. Fischerhütte in the Kiel Canal where the cargo m/v "Kitty C" ran into the ferry "Swinemünde" thereby destroying the iron inner pilings and damaging outer pilings of the ferry berth. The lit piling was lying underneath the "Swinemünde". The work could, however, not be finished as the diver encountered problems. Meanwhile the "Pillau" replaced the damaged "Swinemünde" and thereby was using a substitute berth, but is carrying no vehicles. The tug "Saatsee" of the shipping authority Brunsbüttel was to pull the ferry with its damaged wheelhouse to the Saatsee Yard in Rendsburg on Dec 4.
