Engine failure in Dardanelles Strait
On the night of Sep 8, 2024, the 'Sormovskiy 3063', en route from Mersin to Severomorsk, suffered an engine failure off the Kepez coast during the transit of the Dardanelles Strait. The tugs 'Kurtarma 13' and 'Türkeli' sent to assist along wiht a strait pilot. The ship was taken in tow and safely moored at the Karanlık Liman anchorage under the coordination of the Çanakkale GTH Center. Anchor loss on Don
The "Sormovskiy 3063" lost its stern anchor and anchor chain, while anchored at km mark 3156 on the river Don on the Azov-Don Shipping Canal roadstead, on June 2, 2018. The anchor weighed one tonne and the chain was of 28 mm caliber and 125 meters in length. The vessel had to deploy his stern anchor to stop the vessel from drifting and as a result, the vessel lost the anchor and chain. It was meanwhile underway to Mersin, ETA June 8.
Grounding off Donetsk
The "Sormovskiy 3063" ran aground around Mar 19, 2016, in the Donetsk anchorage area, Rostov-on-Don. In the morning of Mar 20 the vessel was still aground, awaiting a rising water level.
