On Dec 14, 2014, the "Falkland" ran aground on the Stabbe rock in Botnane, Bremanger, at high tide and was hard aground on the submerged rock. The police was notified at 11.30 a.m., and the lifeboat "Halfdan Grieg" was called and tried to pull the ship off in vain at 1 p.m. The ship which was almost fully loaded with 3,000 tons limestone enroute from Trondheim to Sarpsborg and was listing about five degrees to port. At 12.15 a.m. a tug arrived on scene, and divers assessed the state of the hull. Another salvage attempt at 2 p.m. at high tide failed, but about 5 p.m. the ship was refloated with the help of the tugs "Fastnet Nore" and "Boa Heimdal" and the lifeboat. At 7 p.m. the ship was berthed at Gunvildhagen in Florø.
