Trawler disabled off Flushing
On Apr 1, 2015, short past noon, the "Eben Haezer - VLI 7" got in trouble on the Wester Scheldt. The port side propeller was fouled by a fishing net leaving the vessel rudderless in an anchoring area. The f/v "Deo Volente - ARM 25" came to assist and tried to pull the vessel to Flushing, but because of the strong winds of seven Beaufort and the busy ship traffic in the main fairway which had to be crossed the RNLI station Breskens awas alerted. The lifeboat "Christien" was on scene 15 minutes later and took the "Eben Haezer" in tow towards the outer port of Flushing, where the "VLB 3" came to assist too and guide the vessel through the locks.
