Skymar moored in Venice
The tugs “Lourdes” and “Marina” from Panfido were able to tow the "Skymar" to Venice in the run of Feb 11, and in the evening the vessel was moored at the Commercial Terminals. Freighter Skymar ran aground in Venice area, Italy
Freighter Skymar ran aground on a coastline in Venice area on Feb 10 2012. Vessel loaded with 5400 mt of silicon sand was anchored about a mile off Chioggia (coastal town in Venice province) breakwater. When the storm came vessel tried to heave anchor, but without success. Vessel lost an anchor and was pushed to the shore. The details are unclear due to language problem, news are published in Italian media only.
