Estesky sank fishing vessel

On Oct 5, 2011, at 10.10 p.m. the "Estesky" carrying 3,200 tons of alumina, was in collision with the f/v "Tabar" from Malpicar at the approach of La Coruna 400 metres north of the breakwater Barrié de la Maza. The 12-m-f/v which was underway tp Linares Rivas, was hit in the stern while the crew was cleaning the catch and sank. A yacht saved one man, another boat two other, one man was missing. Two fishers were injured. The Red Cross Gardacostas, the helicopter Helimer and the Mirfak Salvamar lifeboat attended after the accident. Visibility at that time was only 15-20 metres.
