Search for man lost over board stopped
In the evening of Dec 10, 2015, around 6 p.m. a man of Polish nationality fell over board the "Mazovia" enroute from Ystad to Świnoujście about 20 miles east of southern Rügen in the German rescue region. The Swedish SAR rescue center contacted the German counterparts, and Germany took over the lead of the SAR operation which involved the "Mazovia", "Jan Sniadecki", "Kopernik" and "Wolin" as well as a number of SAR units from Germany, among them the "Bredsted" of the federal police, the "Hannes Glogner" of the DGzRS station Sassnitz and "Eugen" from Greifswalder Oie, and a lifeboat from Poland. The Swedish Maritime Administration sent the Lifeguard 006 from Ronneby. The operation was suspended on Dec 11 at 1 a.m. due to inclement weather withouth that the man was found.
