Disabled ferry towed to Frederikshavn
On Apr 20, the "Fjord Cat" was towed from Hirtshals to Frederikshavn for engine repairs by the "Havkat III". The Fjordline therefore decided that the shipping company's other two ferries "Bergensfjord" and "Stavanger" would have to make a stop in Kristiansand on the way to Stavanger and Bergen in the meantime, the revised schedule starting in the evening of Apr 21. Fjord Line has canceled all trips with the "Fjord Cat" until May 2. The "Fjord Cat" has normally not been on sailing between Hirtshals and Kristiansand so early in the year, but this year the shipping company chose to start the season on Apr 7. Ferry sidelined due to technical trouble
On Apr 11, 2017, the "Fjord Cat" had to cancel all sailings between Kristiansand and Hirtshals due to technical problems. The r Fjord Line has not determined what kind of issues caused the catamaran to stay sidelined in Kristiansand. Guest were contacted to book a new sailing or completely cancel the ticket. The company regretted the inconvenience associated with the cancellation of the sailings. The company has not disclosed when the ferry is expected back in service.
Bergensfjord replaced Fjord Cat
While the "Fjord Cat" was remaining under repair at the Orskov Yard in Frederikshavn, the Fjord line's ferry "Bergensfjord" (IMO: 9586617) arrived in port on June 18 for the first time after having been insterted in the traffic to Hirtshals.
