DOF awarded PSV contract
Norwegian OSV operator DOF has been awarded a two-year contract by a major North Sea operator for its 2011-built platform supply vessel Skandi Gamma. The contract is expected to commence in the first quarter of this year.
Statoil Extends Contract for LNG-Powered PSV
DOF announced today it’s LNG-powered platform supply vessel (PSV) the Skandi Gamma will be working for another year under a Statoil contract that is renewing in February 2015. The 4753 ton deadweight Skandi Gamma was built in 2011 and is an STX PSV 06 design powered by three Wärtsilä 6L34DF engines. In addition, DOF secured a 6 month extension for the Skandi Caledonia with Maersk UK starting from October 2015.
Suplly ship punched oil rig
The " Skandi Gamma" in the last week suffered an engine blackout blackout while it was alongside the Marshall Islands flagged rig "Stena Don", (IMO: 8764418) in the Troll oil field in pos. 60°51.00’N 03°34.90’E. The vessel sailed straight into the rig and punched a hole in a ballast tank of the rig. The "Skandi Gamma" which had sailed from Florö on Sep 12, 2014,entered the port of Leirvik on Sep 16.
