Research ship grounded in Ostend
The "Sirius" got stuck at the Eastern breakwater in Ostend on Nov 9, 2018, at 6.30 p.m. The research ship was still stuck. There were three crew members on board who remained unharmed and stayed on board inspite of the starboard side list of the grounded ship. Two tugs, the "Multratug 11" (IMO: 7232626) and the "Zeehond" (IMO: 8843549) were on the spot and waited for the flood at 11 p.m. At midnight the ship was pulled into the port. The ship was able to sail on its own, but a towing connection was chosen. In the port the "Sirius" was subjected to various inspections where superficial damage was found. The accident happened just when the tide was outgoing, causing the "Sirius" to run aground. Dutch report with photo: https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/bldja_03930637
