Medevac off A Coruña
On Dec 22, 2019, a crew member of the 'Silver Moon' was injured and had to be medevaced by Salvamento Marítimo. The medevac was carried out 53 miles west of A Coruña by the helicopter Helimer 402 in waves up to 10 meters height. The victim was transferred to airport for further care. Cooling pipe defect in North Atlantic
The "Silver Moon", en route from Antwerp to Dakar, with a crew of 24 and 70 cars as cargo on board, suffered a defect with its cooling pipe in position 51 17 14 N, 001 50 23 E on May 29, 2019, at 08.50 a.m. The vessel stopped to carry out repairs. The Dover Coastguard was notified after the defect has been rectified.
Small fire in Piraeus
On March 19, 2018, the "Silver Moon", while affecting repairs at Perama, suffered a small fire in a section of wooden scaffolding at the port side aft. The Perama Port Authority sent fire-fighters to the scene. The fire was extinguished by the crew and the fire fighters. The port authority was conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident. The ship had been under repair in Piraeus since Feb 26. The "Silver Moon" sailed from Perama on Apr 13 at 11.40 a.m. and arrived at Genova on Apr 17.
