Fishing vessel towed to Gíjon
The 'Siempre Santa María', with 13 on board, was disabled and adrift due to nets entangled in the propeller on March 20, 2025. The SAR boat 'Salvamar Castor' was deployed to assist and took the ship in tow after finishing hoisting fishing nets. On the approach to Gijón, the tug 'Alonso de Chaves' (IMO: 8411164) took over the towing wire. During the docking operations, the SAR boat 'Salvamar Rigel' and the 'LS Ballast' remained on standby to assist if necessary, always at a safe distance to avoid snagging net gear on the propellers. Finally, the fishing vessel was safely docked in port. Report with photos: https://x.com/salvamentogob/status/1903732105101664487
