Allision in Brunsbüttel

On Dec 3, 2017, at 10.45 a.m. the "Siegfried Lehmann", entering the larg Southern lock in Brunsbüttel, allided with the tank m/v "Manas" which was moored at the middle wall of the lock chamber. Due to a manoevering mistake the stern of the cargo ship hit the tanker. The boat davits of the "Siegfried Lehmann" at starboard side were damaged as well as the railing of the tanker. The "Manas", however, was able to continue its voyage from Hamburg to Rotterdam at noon, the "Siegfried Lehmann", which was enroute from Kolding to Sevilla, was detained until its seaworthiness has been certificated and dropped anchor on Brunsbüttel roads. left the anchorage on Brunsbüttel roads. On Dec 4 at noon she headed to the Mützelfeldt Yard in Cuxhaven for repairs, arriving there at 4.30 p.m. She left the yard after repairs on Dec 7 at 12.30 a.m., headed to Sevilla, ETA Dec 14. The "Manas" left Hamburg on Dec 4 and headed to Rotterdam, ETA Dec 5.
