Siem Offshore announces sale of "Siddis Mariner"

Siem Offshore and O.H. Meling have agreed that Siem Offshore will purchase the 49% ownership in Siem Meling Offshore DA (SMODA) held by O.H. Meling. Siem Offshore will after the acquisition own 100% of the Company SMODA. As part of the transaction, the vessel “Siddis Mariner” is sold from SMODA to a Company owned by O.H. Meling with effect and delivery 31 May 2017. SMODA will continue its ownership in the vessel “Siem Pilot which will commence a 4-year firm contract offshore Canada during July 2017.

Installation of sensors at U 864 wrecksite complete

The installation of geotechnical and environmental sensors around the "U 864" wreck at the seabed off Fedje has now been completed from the "Siddis Mariner". Once the communication buoy has been installed, a seven days period of background monitoring will commence. Subsea operation well underway

The subsea operation was well underway in the wreck area for "U-864" by May 7. The first of six piezometers have been installed. These sensors will measure the consolidation of the counter fill. Norwegian Coastal Administration representatives Roald Kristoffersen and Mikael Viggen from Reinertsen AS were monitoring the installation, making sure the contractor installs properly, safely and that the sensors are functioning.
