Five ships blown ashore in Kaoshiung
In the morning of Aug 23, 2018, five ships were blown ashore at the coast along Kaohsiung by a storm, besides the "Tai Cang Hu 1" (IMO-No.: 9142423) the "An Li 669", 5.000 dwt (IMO-No.: 8794827), south of the port approach and the "Shun Hong" in pos. 22 38.41 N, 120 15.18 E, the "Chang Long 68", 5000 dwt (IMO-No.: 8793744), and the Solomon-Islands registered "Flying Dragon" (Fei Long; Call sign Q9L5D) north of it. On the whole 66 crew members were on board.. Helicopters of the Coastguard went on standby for an evacuation in case needed. In the run of the day 41 crew members were taken off by rescue teams and helicopters, including all 19 crew from the "Flying Dragon", 12 from the "Taig Cang Hu 1" and 10 from the "Chang Long 68". Salvage works would not start until an improvement of the weather.
