Tanker robbed off Alang
The "Ship Ocean I", while being towed to Alang by the Singapore flagged anchor handling tug "ASL Scorpio", was boarded by three perpetrators from a fishing vessel in position lat 21 12 07N, long 072 12 08E, off Alang on Jan 7, 2018, at 12.45 p.m. They stole the ship's stores and spares. The crew of the tug immediately reported the boarding to the local authorities. The Indian Coast Guard Station at Pipavav requested the Marine Police to investigate the incident. On Jan 11, the Marine Police reported that they had arrested the perpetrators and recovered the stolen items.
