One missing after collision
The "Windu Karsa Dwitya" was in collision with the ferry "Virgo 18" (IMO: 8921755) about 1,5 miles off Merak port in the Sunda Strait on April 22, 2019, at 4.30 p.m. She had sailed from Merak bound to Bakauheni, while the "Virgo 18" was approaching the port. Both ferries were serving Merak Bakauheni line. One crew member of the "Windu Karsa Dwitya" fell overboard and was missing, one passenger was injured and was rushed to Krakatau Steel Hospital using an ambulance upon the ship's arrival at Pier 1 in Merak where all passengers were safely disembarked. The "Windu Karsa Dwitya" suffered damage to its starboard side bridge wing, and the fore deck hull was dented and breached, while the "Virgo 18" sustained stern damages at port side and also berthed at Merak.
