Helicopter had emergency landing on rig

Wed Apr 19 14:04:03 CEST 2017 Timsen

On Apr 15, 2017, a CHC helicopter had a very violent landing on a helicopter tire aboard the "Sevan Brazil" at 4.35 p.m. The S92 (PR-CHR) experienced an emergency landing on the helicopter deck on the offshore platform in Brazil. The Regional Accident Investigation and Prevention Services (Center for Investigation), Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA) and National Civil Aviation Agency Brazil (ANAC) were informed of the incident. Seripa will complete the primary investigation with full support from CHC Brazil. The damage to both helicopter and rig were small. No person on the rig or plane was injured and a plan was developed to get the helicopter back to the shore for a full investigation. The owner of the platform also assessed what work was required to repair the damage to the platform. Danish report with video: https://maritimedanmark.dk/?Id=34486
