Philippino fisherman saved after 20 days drift
Roberto De La Cruz, aged 39 from Surigao City who was drifting more than 400 miles off the Philippine coast, was rescued after having been 20 days adrift in a small boat, by the crew of the "Seri Begawan" which was enroute from Gladstone to Beihai. The man who had been divided from his mother ship was taken on board and medically treated. The master of the tanker, Manjit Lal, contacted the Philippine Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), and on May 27 the castaway was handed over to a boat of the Coastguard. Qatargas sells Qatar’s first ever cargo of LNG to Malaysia.
The cargo was sold to Petronas LNG and was loaded yesterday on to the LNG vessel, Seri Begawan, at Ras Laffan Port. The cargo will be delivered to Malaysia’s first LNG receiving terminal located in Melaka. The conventional sized cargo contains approximately 3.1trn British thermal units of LNG. The cargo was supplied by Qatargas 2, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total. Qatargas and Petronas recently concluded a master sales and purchase agreement (MSPA) to facilitate the sale of this spot cargo and future volumes. Source: Sea Ship News [23/07/13]
