Complicated cargo removal in Ain Sukhna
The "Bow Diamond" suffered a cargo shift end of June 2019 in the Gulf of Aden. 17 containers with dangerous goods, loaded with the explosive TNT, spilt in the cargo hold after the ship had left Colombo on June 15, bound to European ports. The ship berthed in Ain Sukhna on July 8, where the Five Ocean Salvage signed an LOF and was tasked to remove the explosive and possibly also other goods. First the carg hold has to be decontaminated by ordnance experts. The owners Held Shipping in Haren/Ems expected the work to take three weeks. The ship itself was said to have no damage apart from the mess in the cargo hold. It remained stationary on Aug 2.
