29 people suffered from norovirus infection
A gastrointestinal virus outbreak was reported on March 21, 2025, aboard the 'Seabourn Encore', which had departed from Singapore for a voyage to Japan and then across the Pacific. Relatively few people were affected, mostly crew members, with 22 out of 405 falling ill, and seven passengers out of 461. Predominant symptoms were vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. The pathogen was identified as the norovirus. The 'Seabourn Encore' is currently en route to Honolulu with an ETA as of March 31.
Passenger died on board
On the evening of Oct 16, 2024, the Port Authority of Sami Kefalonia was informed that a 71-year-old passenger of the 'Seabourn Encore' - US citizen- was found unconscious inside the ship, while it was sailing from Corfu to Sami . The doctor of the ship went to the spot where he confirmed his death. The Sami Port Department of the Kefalonia Port Authority, which conducted the preliminary investigation, ordereed an autopsy to be carried out at the Forensic Service of Patras.
Medevac in Nafplio
On Nov 4, 2023, at noon, the Port Authority of Nafplio was informed that a crew member of the 'Seabourn Encore', which had moored at the anchorage of the port of Nafplio, needed immediate hospital treatment. The man was disembarked and taken to the port of Nafplio, where he was transferred to the General Hospital of Argos Argolida, for further medical examinations.
