Seaboard Ranger assisted disabled fishing vessel
In the morning of June 11, 2013, watchstanders at the Seventh Coast Guard District command center received a report from the "Seaboard Ranger" about the disabled 50-foot Haitian-flagged vessel "Hunter". The fishing vessel had become disabled and adrift with 15 people aboard after losing power. The "Seaboard Ranger" remained on scene until the Coast Guard Cutter "Northland "arrived to provide assistance. The "Northland" safely embarked the crew from the structurally unsafe vessel and remained on scene throughout the night before transporting the 15 fisherman to Cap Haitien, Haiti, on June 13. Later, the Coastguard cutter "Oak" arrived on scene and towed the vessel back to Haiti.
