Tanker adrift in the Oslo Fjord
Coming from the Statoil pier in Kalundborg where she had sailed on May 17, 2015, at 5.30 p.m., the "Scorpius" suffered an engine failure at Ellelykt in the Oslo Fjord in the morning of May 18. The lifeboat "Bergesen D.Y" was called to the tanker which had turned around 180 degrees and was adrift south of Drøbak only 200 meters from the land. Jointly with a tug the situation was brought under control and dropped anchor. First on scene was the tug "Glytingen" of the Drøbak Marineservice and kept the ship off the Elleskjær rocks. Also the tug "Bruse" was ready to attend in Drøbak. The tug "Baus" which arrived at 11 a.m. towed the tanker to Oslo once the anchors were up, where it was berthed in Sjursøya around 5 p.m. Reports with photos and video: https://twitter.com/NSSR/status/600204394748076032 http://www.amta.no/Kjemikalietanker_f_r_bistand_fra_tre_redningsb_ter_i_Dr_baksundet-5-3-43020.html http://www.amta.no/Kjemikalietankeren_taues_til_kai_n_-5-3-43194.html
