Cargo ship damaged in allision
The 'Arklow Flair', en route from Lisbon with a cargo of 4.653 tons of cement and seven crew members and a pilot on board, allided with the inner section of the outer pier in the Workington Port on Nov 6, 2021, at 11.25 p.m. in position 54 39 07 N, 003 34 37 W. The vessel was holed below the waterline and continued to its berth. A slight damage around the bow thruster tube was located which caused the water ingress. A maintenance team has been alerted to assesss which temporary repair can be made internally. The cargo was being removed from the shipp, starting from the forward area of the vessel so that the bulbous bow and damaged area came out of the water.
Anchor caused damages
On Nov 17, 2019, the 'Arklow Flair' docked in Dublin at the cargo terminal with a number of dents and bruises at its port side bow above the waterline. Obviously her anchor had dropped by a few shackles in bad weather and the anchor flukes did some damage to her hull.
