Gas loaden Tanker 'Schloss Neuschwanstein' collides with bridge near town of Voerde

At a ship collision in the night from 18th to 19th of July 2013 in Voerde (Wesel) three ships were damaged, the 35-year-old captain was seriously injured. The master of a laden gas tanker rammed into the railway bridge over the Wesel-Datteln channel, reported the water police. Then, the gas tanker collided against another two ships moored on the shore. The wheelhouse was destroyed, the master came to the hospital. The with butane gas filled tanks remained intact. There was no damage to the bridge. The railway line was temporarily closed.
