Scheldegracht refloated
The "Westsund" refloated the "Scheldegracht" in the Langelands Belt about 10 kilometers west of Nakskov on Dec 21 after the Danish Maritime Authority has given permission to do so. The ship dropped anchor off Skagen in the morning of Dec 22. A diver investigation after the salvage has revealed no evidence of damage to the ship, and there were no dentified spills of oil at the grounding site. At the next port of call a thorough investigation of the ship will be conducted. The grounding was caused navigational errors so that the ship turned into the Great Belt at the wrong time.
