Scan Fjord listing in Trondheim
On Sep 16, 2013, the "Scan Fjord", which had come from Sandnes, suffered a leak and tilted in the port of Trondheim. The fire department was notified that the freighter took in water just before 10.30 p.m. At 11.45 p.m. the ship had a starboard list of 15 degrees. Half an hour later, the fire department reported that the Civil Defence was in place with two dewatering pumps and the water level was reduced by about half a meter. On Sep 17 at 12.45 a.m. it was announced that they pumped more water out than was flowing in. The water ingress was about 150 liters per minute, and the pump capacity was 1000 liters. The list was correccted and the leak patched. Also the fire boat "Anne Kathrine" attended. The ship had loaded about 52.5 tons of rebar steel in the night. The ship was about to leave the dock when the crew discovered the hole. The reason why the hull was holed was not known, but it seemed that a metal object pierced through the hull.
