Collision at Drapetsonas
The Port Authority of Keratsini was informed in the afternoon of April 7 about a collision between the 'SC Phoenix' and the ferry 'Smyrna' at the new pier of Drapetsonas, causing damage to both ships. No injuries were reported from the incident and no marine pollution was observed. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Port Department of Keratsini of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus, while the departure of both ships was prohibited until a certificate of seaworthiness has been presented and a class maintenance certificate by the attending classification society. The 'SC Phoenix' had entered the port of Piraeus on March 29.
Container ship diverted after fire
A fire broke out aboard the 'SC Phoenix' en route from Ashdodd to Piraeus in the Mediterranean Sea, about 90 nautical miles north of Damietta on March 25, 2022, at 9 p.m. UTC. The ship slowed down and was adrift timewise. It got under way again around midnight, interrupting the scheduled voyage and diverting to Limassol with an ETA as of March 26. The ship was sailing at a reduced speed of 12-13 knots.
