Anchor loss off Thessaloniki

The Port Authority of Thessaloniki was informed about the loss of the port side anchor of the 'SC Memphis', while raising anchor at the Thessaloniki anchorage in pos. 40 35 55N, 022 55 13 E for its entry into the port in the morning of Nov 29, 2023. The vessel was safely berthed at pier No. 6 in the container port of Thessaloniki. The lost anchor was retrieved from the bottom of the anchorage by the local maritime agency. The Port Authority of Thessaloniki has banned the vessel from sailing until the anchor is replaced and a class maintenance certificate was issued by the monitoring classification society, and on Nov 30 at 6 p.m. the ship left the port en route to Piraeus with an ETA as of Dec 1.
