Offshore vessel to be laid up
Island Offshore on Mar 9, 2016, has decided to lay up the "Island Dragon" and "Iceland Duchess". The "Island Dragon" had a contract with Lundin Norway since summer 2014 and was replaced by the "Island Commander". The reason was the need of the oil company for a vessel with a larger deck area The "Island Duchess" has a time charter in Las Palmas for missions off Africa. The lack of work led to the decision of Island Offshore to lay up the ship in Ulsteinvik.
Island Offshore takes delivery of Island Duchess
Island Offshore on Oct. 23 has taken delivery of Island Duchess from the Vard Brevik shipyard in Norway. The vessel is the second in a series of four platform supply vessels of Rolls-Royce UT 717 CD design to be delivered from Vard Brevik in 2013 and 2014. Island Duchess is heading for the spot market as soon as she leaves the yard.
