Repairs at Lindenau Yard completed
The "Kovera" departed from Kiel after repairs of breaches and dents in the bow suffered on Nov 9 in collision with the "Ida" at local Lindenau Yard on Nov 18, 6.10 p.m. and headed for Barrow-in-Furness as next port of call.
Collision in fog
In the morning of Nov 9, 2011, the "Kovera" which was coming from Klaipeda was in collision with the "Ida" in dense fog off Holtenau on Kiel Roads. Both ships were approaching the locks of the Kiel Canal when the "Kovera" ran into the "Ida" which was about to stop which was possibly not remarked by the Russian crew, Both ships were significantly damaged, no spills reported. The "Ida“ was ordered to anchor in the Heikendorf bight, the "Kovera" anchored off Holtenau for surveys. The police launch "Neumühlen" was on site. The "Kovera" later sailed to the Lindenau Yard Kiel for repairs of the hole in its bow.
