Banned ship sailed to Ukraine
The "Sara" was detained in Monfalcone on Sep 3, 2019, one day after its arrival from Istanbul. It was the third detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 24 months. Therefore under the provisions of section 4 of the Paris MoU, Article 16 of EU Council Directive 2009/16/EC, the ship will be refused further access to any port and anchorage in the Paris MOU region, except a port and anchorage of the ship’s flag state. The refusal of access became applicable immediately after the ship was authorized to leave the port. The vessel sailed on Sep 9 at 1.30 p.m. and berthed in Istanbul between Sep 13 and 14, before heading to the Ukrainian Danube-port Reni, where it arrived on Sep 15 at 9.15 p.m. and remained stationary on Sep 17. On Sep 24 it anchored off Kilyos.
Cargo Ship Sara Banned from Paris MoU Ports after Detention in Italy
The Saint Kitts and Nevis-flagged general cargo ship Sara has been banned from Paris MoU ports after a number of “serious violations” were discovered during an inspection. The ship was detained in Port Monfalcone, Italy, on September 3, in what is the third detention in the Paris MoU region in the last two years. Following the detention, the ship will be refused further access to any port and anchorage in the Paris MOU region, except a port and anchorage of the ship’s flag state for the next three months. According to Paris MoU, the refusal of access will become applicable immediately after the ship is authorized to leave Port Monfalcone.
Technical failure at Larnaca
The "Sara" suffered a technical failure at Larnaca on May 4, 2019. The vessel's departure permission was cancelled by the port master until the completion of repairs. Upon completion, a state surveyors will attend to verify the final repair status.
