Burnt out bulk carrier beyond repair

The Sao Jose', which had been gutted by a fire on Nov 22, 2009 and never returned to service, was beyong repair and sold to breakers in 'Aliaga, The ship was finally beached on Nov 20, 2024. Gutted Duden on the move

The partially burnt out "Duden" which was gutted by fire on Nov 22, 2009, off Brazil killing one crew member, and towed into Rio Grande new port on June 11, 2011, was auctioned and acquired by Jorge Luiz of White Azevedo Valentim in Rio de Janeiro for 1,12 Million Dollars and towed from Rio Grande to Turkey for repairs by the tug "Ionion Pelagos" on Aug 12, a trip which will take about 50 days.
