Whole crew taken off

Mon Sep 07 12:44:36 CEST 2020 Timsen

All 29 sailors from the 'Santiago I' were transferred in a vehicle to an accommodation authorized by the Municipality. Early on Sep 5 the disembarkation operation of 16 crew members of the ship was carried out at the Comandante Luis Piedra Buena Pier. The crew members will have to undergo quarantine in good health conditions, for which purpose it was decided to take them off the ship. The crew was taken to the Samay Huasi hotel in Puerto Madryn and must comply with all the sanitary measures required. Likewise, a police custody will remain in place to guarantee compliance with mandatory social isolation.

Whole crew infected with COVID-19

Wed Sep 02 23:28:16 CEST 2020 Timsen

As the 'Santiago I' arrived in Puerto Madryon on Aug 31, 2020, it did not comply with the requirements established by the health protocol of the Port Administration. It did not have the swabs of the entire crew, nor had 14 days passed since his departure, and it was denied to dock. Consequently, the whole crew was swabbed. All 29 people on board gave positive results. The ship came from the fishing area and the last port of call was Mar del Plata. The vessel will remain on the local anchoage, the isolation will be carried out on board and the current protocols will be complied with.
